Diagnostic Test
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM PIM (POWER INVERTER MODULE) diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM PIM (POWER INVERTER MODULE) .
- VERIFY THAT THE POWER INVERTER MODULE (PIM) IS ACTIVE ON THE BUS
- Using the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.
- Verify that the PIM is active on the bus.
Is the PIM active on the bus?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Perform the NO RESPONSE FROM PIM (POWER INVERTER MODULE) diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM PIM (POWER INVERTER MODULE) .
- ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM (ABS) MODULE WARNING:
To avoid serious or fatal injury on vehicles equipped with airbags, disable the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) before attempting any steering wheel, steering column, airbag, seat belt tensioner, impact sensor, or instrument panel component diagnosis or service. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the SRS. Failure to take the proper precautions could result in accidental airbag deployment.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Replace the Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM, REMOVAL .
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to ABS VERIFICATION TEST .
- Turn the ignition on.
- Using the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.
Does the DTC remain active?
Yes
- Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance with service information. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the PIM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Test complete.
