Theory Of Operation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

The vehicle communications network includes a fault tolerant CAN-B bus of which the Occupant Restraint Controller (ORC) module is part of, and a non-fault tolerant CAN-C bus. The CAN-B bus is used for communication between body and interior modules at 50 kbps. The CAN-B-bus uses a star topology, with all the control modules connected to the BCM as the central hub.
