Pressure Bleeding

NOTE:
Follow pressure bleeder manufacturer instructions for use of pressure bleeding equipment.
- Install pressure bleeding equipment by following the pressure bleeder manufacturer instructions.
- Attach a clear plastic hose (1) to the bleeder screw and feed the hose into a clear jar (2) containing enough fresh brake fluid to submerge the end of the hose.
- Open the bleeder screw at least one full turn or more to obtain a steady stream of brake fluid.
- After approximately 120-240 ml (4-8 ounces) of fluid have been bled through the brake circuit and an air-free flow is maintained in the clear plastic hose and jar, close the bleeder screw.
- Repeat this procedure at all the remaining bleeder screws.
- Check and adjust brake fluid level to the FULL mark on the reservoir.
- Check the brake pedal travel. If pedal travel is excessive or has not been improved, some air may still be trapped in the system. Re-bleed the brakes as necessary.
- Using the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" perform the Swapped Line Test routine. If routine fails, check lines between Regenerative Brake Controller (RBC) and Brake Operating Unit (BOU) for correct connections.
- Using the scan tool and 30psi pressurized fluid supply, under "Miscellaneous Functions" and "System Test" perform the Bleed Brake routine.NOTE:
Perform all of the next steps in order within the same ignition cycle.
- Using the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" perform the PTS Calibration routine.
- Using the scan tool, under "Miscellaneous Functions" perform the Boost Piston/Sense Piston Pressure Calibration routine.
- Using the scan tool, under "System Test" perform the Bleed Brakes Verification routine.
- If all routines passed, Test Complete. If not re-bleed and repeat again from step 3.
- Test drive the vehicle to verify the brakes are operating properly and pedal feel is correct.
