The vehicle uses an Interior Permanent Magnet (IPM) AC synchronous motor, controlled by the PIM which receives power from the High Voltage Battery System. The eMotor has a splined shaft (4) that mates to the gearbox. The PIM sends current to the motor through the 3 wire connector (1). The eMotor is cooled by routing coolant through the Inlet (2) and Outlet (3) coolant fittings. The motor stator winding temperature is monitored by a temperature sensor (6) and that information is sent to the EVCU. The Resolver connector (5) is serviceable separately from the eMotor.
