Motor, Wiper: Removal: Rear

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Perform the 12-Volt Power Down procedure. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Remove the rear wiper arm from the rear wiper motor output shaft. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL .
- Remove the trim from the inside of the liftgate. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, LIFTGATE, REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the body wire harness connector (1) from the rear wiper motor connector receptacle.
- Remove the three screws (2) that secure the rear wiper motor (1) to the liftgate inner panel.
- Carefully pull the wiper motor forward far enough to disengage the output shaft from the rubber grommet in the liftgate glass.
- Remove the motor from the liftgate.
- Remove the rubber grommet from the output shaft clearance hole in the liftgate glass and discard.
NOTE:
Always use a new rubber grommet in the liftgate glass when installing the rear wiper motor.
