Linkage, Wiper Arm: Installation: Installation

NOTE:
The front wiper motor can be removed from the wiper linkage module and is serviced independently from the remainder of the wiper linkage module for this vehicle. Refer to MOTOR, WIPER, REMOVAL .
- Position the front wiper linkage module into the cowl plenum as a unit.
- Engage the wire harness retainer (1) with the linkage module bracket.
- Connect the wire harness connector (2) to the connector receptacle for the front wiper motor.
- Engage the knob-like rubber insulator into the hole in the rearward wall of the cowl plenum.
- Install and tighten the left screw (3) that secures the module bracket to the cowl plenum, followed by the right screw. Tighten the screws to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
- Install the cowl plenum cover/grille panel over the front wiper linkage module. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, INSTALLATION
.NOTE:
Be certain to turn the ignition switch to the ON position, then turn the front wiper switch ON and OFF again to cycle the wiper motor and linkage to their natural park position before installing the front wiper arms onto the wiper pivots.
- Install both front wiper arms onto the wiper pivots. Refer to ARM, WIPER, INSTALLATION .
- Perform the 12-Volt Power Up procedure. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
