Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR MULTIPLE DTCS
- With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Ignition off wait at least one minute.
- Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
- With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
Did DTCs other than P0C17-00 set?
Yes
Diagnose these DTCs first in accordance with the service information.
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Ignition off wait at least one minute.
- Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
- With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- The Conditions that set this DTC are no longer present.
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Power Inverter Module (PIM) pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
- RESOLVER RELEARN PROCEDURE
- Position the vehicle on a hoist, and raise the vehicle until the front tires are approximately 30 cm. (12 in.) from the ground.
- Connect the scan tool to the diagnostics connector. The diagnostic connector is located under the lower steering column cover to the left of the steering column.
- Enter the vehicle and make sure the vehicle doors are closed to prevent the Automatic Shift to Park function from engaging during the test.
- Switch the Ignition to READY mode.
- turn off the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) button on the instrument panel.
- Carry out the Resolver Relearn procedure by following the step-by-step instructions on the scan tool.
Was the Resolver Relearn Procedure successful?
Yes
- Test complete.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Ignition off wait at least one minute.
- Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
- With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance to the service procedure. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The Conditions that set this DTC are no longer present.
- Using the schematics as a guide, check the Power Inverter Module (PIM) pins, terminals, and connectors for corrosion, damage, or terminal push out. Pay particular attention to all power and ground circuits.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
