Diagnostic Test
WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- Ignition ON, do not crank.
- With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Ignition OFF for 30 seconds, Turn Ignition to ON position, Vehicle not in Ready Mode, Vehicle Gear Selector Module (GSM) in Park
- With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 2.
No
- Perform the following Standard Procedures. If no defects are found in the 3 Phase Wire Harness or the e-Motor then Check the Environmental Data. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE . If this DTC has occurred 3 or more times go to 2. If the DTC has occurred less than three times, clear the fault code memory and no more actions are necessary.
Visual check of 3-Phase Wiring Harness between e-Motor and PIM Check continuity and short circuit of 3-Phase Wiring Harness Check electrical resistance between e-Motor phases
- POWER INVERTER MODULE
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
- Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact.
- Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance to the service information. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
