Diagnostic Test

- VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE NOTE:
If multiple DTCs are present, inspect the wiring and harness connector at the EPS Assembly.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on vehicle work order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- With the scan tool, read the DTCs in the EPS Module.
Is the DTC active at this time?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- COMMUNICATION DTCS
Does the scan tool display: U1700-87-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH BCM?
Yes
- Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) and perform the NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 3
- COMMUNICATION DTCS
Does the scan tool display: U1700-86-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM BCM?
Yes
- Refer to U1700-86-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM BCM and perform the U1700-86-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM BCM diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 4
- BODY CONTROL MODULE CONFIGURATION
- Using the scan tool, verify that the BCM has been configured.
Has the BCM been configured?
Yes
- Test complete. Investigate repair history and verify proper installation procedures have been followed.
No
- Replace the BCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Using the scan tool, verify that the BCM has been configured.
