Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR RELATED ABS DTCS
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) DTCs.
Are there any ABS DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK FOR RELATED PIM DTCS
- With the scan tool, read Power Inverter Module (PIM) DTCs.
Are there any PIM DTCs present?
Yes
- Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure.
No
- Go To 3
- With the scan tool, read Power Inverter Module (PIM) DTCs.
- CHECK THE VEHICLE WHEELS/TIRES
- Check the vehicle wheels/tires for proper size.
Are the wheels/tires the correct size?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Install the proper wheels/tires for the vehicle.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
- Check the vehicle wheels/tires for proper size.
- CHECK IF THE DTC RESETS
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, erase Electric Vehicle Control Unit EVCU DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close doors and allow the EVCU to shut down.NOTE:
Allow up to two minutes for the EVCU to shut down. Opening the vehicle door will interrupt the shut down process.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Test drive the vehicle. Make sure the EAC is off.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
- If any ABS or PIM DTCs set during the test drive: ABS or PIM. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX
and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure before proceeding. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX
.
Does this DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 5
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (EVCU)
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors between the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module/sensors, Power Inverter Module (PIM) and the Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU).
- Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
- Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
- Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace and program the Electric Vehicle Control Module (EVCU) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL (EVCU), REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
