Diagnostic Test

- CHECK IF DTC IS CURRENT
- With the scan tool, read EVCU DTCs.
- Record the Environmental Data and any DTCs.
- With the scan tool, erase EVCU DTCs.
- Using the recorded Environmental Data, along with the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
- With the scan tool, read EVCU DTCs.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE RADIATOR FAN
- Turn the Ignition off.
- Check the Radiator Fan 1 for obstruction.
- Check that the Radiator Fan 1 motor spins freely.
Was any of the above problems found in the Radiator Fan 1?
Yes
- Remove the obstruction or replace the Radiator Fan Module. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST
No
- Go to 3.
- PERFORM RADIATOR ACTUATOR TEST
- With the scan tool, perform the EVCU Radiator Fan Actuator Procedure while listening for the fans to operate.
Do both fans operate?
Yes
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION
No
- Replace the Radiator Fan Module. Refer to FAN, COOLING, REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST
- With the scan tool, perform the EVCU Radiator Fan Actuator Procedure while listening for the fans to operate.
