Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Cycle the ignition on to off three times.
- Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE IMMOBILIZER ANTENNA
- With the scan tool, erase the BCM DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the Immobilizer Antenna from the ignition switch and disconnect the harness connector.
- Connect a jumper wire between the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit and the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit at the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector.
- Cycle the ignition on to off three times.
- Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.
Did the DTC return?
Yes
- Replace the Immobilizer Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (D111) ANTENNA SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) C3 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit between the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector and the Body Control Module C3 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (D931) ANTENNA SHIELD CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit between the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector and the Body Control Module C3 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the open in the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit between the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector and the Body Control Module C3 harness connector.
