Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
    1. With the scan tool, read Body Control Module (BCM) DTCs and record on the repair order.
    2. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    3. Cycle the ignition on to off three times.
    4. Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
    5. With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes

      • Go To  2

      No

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If no problems are found, test complete.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE IMMOBILIZER ANTENNA
    1. With the scan tool, erase the BCM DTCs.
    2. Turn the ignition off.
    3. Remove the Immobilizer Antenna from the ignition switch and disconnect the harness connector.
    4. Cycle the ignition on to off three times.
    5. Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
    6. With the scan tool, read the BCM DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes

      • Replace the Immobilizer Antenna in accordance with the Service Information.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (D111) ANTENNA SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Body Control Module (BCM) C3 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit (Cavity 1) at the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector.

Is the resistance below 40K Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the short to ground in the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (D931) ANTENNA SHIELD CIRCUIT FOR AN SHORT TO GROUND
    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit (Cavity 2) at the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector.

Is the resistance below 40K Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the short to ground in the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE (D931) ANTENNA SHIELD CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO THE (D111) ANTENNA SIGNAL CIRCUIT
    1. Measure the resistance between the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit and the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit at the Immobilizer Antenna harness connector.

Is the resistance below 40K Ohms?

      Yes

      • Repair the short between the (D931) Antenna Shield circuit and the (D111) Antenna Signal circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No
