Diagnostic Test

- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs
- Using the Passenger Window Switch attempt to operate the Passenger Window up and down several times.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE PASSENGER WINDOW MOTOR
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Passenger Window Motor harness connector.
- Connect a 12 volt test light between the (Q12) Passenger Window Driver Up circuit and the (Q22) Passenger Window Driver Down circuit.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Operate the Passenger Window Switch up and down several times while observing the test light.
Does the test light illuminate brightly when the switch is pressed in both directions? The test light will only flash momentarily each time the switch is actuated.
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Window Motor (regulator) in accordances with the Service Information. Refer to REGULATOR, WINDOW, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (Q22) PASSENGER WINDOW DRIVER DOWN CIRCUIT FOR OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module C5 connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (Q22) Passenger Window Driver Down circuit between the BCM C5 harness connector and the Passenger Window Motor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (Q22) Passenger Window Driver Down circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Q12) PASSENGER WINDOW DRIVER UP CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (Q12) Passenger Window Driver Up circuit between the BCM C5 harness connector and the Passenger Window Motor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 2.0 ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the (Q12) Passenger Window Driver Up circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (Q12) Passenger Window Driver Up circuit between the BCM C5 harness connector and the Passenger Window Motor harness connector.
