Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the Park Lamps on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- CHECK THE (L78) RIGHT FRONT PARK LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Turn the Park Lamps off.
- Disconnect the Right Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (L78) Right Front Park Lamp Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (L78) Right Front Park Lamp Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (L72) RIGHT REAR PARK LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Disconnect the Right Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (L72) Right Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit.
Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?
Yes
- Repair the short to ground in the (L72) Right Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 4
- CHECK THE BCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION AT THE RIGHT FRONT PARK LAMP
- Turn the ignition off.
- Reconnect the BCM C1 and C3 harness connectors.
- Connect a 12-volt test light between the (L78) Right Front Park Lamp Driver circuit and the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Right Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the Right Turn Signal on.
Does the test light blink on and off?
Yes
- Replace the Park Lamp Bulb in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, LOWER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 5
- CHECK THE BCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION AT THE RIGHT REAR PARK LAMP
- Connect a 12-volt test light between the (L72) Right Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit and the (Z941) Ground circuit at the Right Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- Turn the Right Turn Signal on.
Does the test light blink on and off?
Yes
- Replace the Park Lamp Bulb in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, LOWER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the BCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
