Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Turn the Park Lamps on.
    3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete. the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE (L77) LEFT FRONT PARK LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Turn the Park Lamps off.
    3. Disconnect the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
    4. Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
    5. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L77) Left Front Park Lamp Driver circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (L77) Left Front Park Lamp Driver circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE (L71) LEFT REAR PARK LAMP DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Disconnect the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
    2. Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L71) Left Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (L71) Left Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE BCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION AT THE RIGHT FRONT PARK LAMP 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Reconnect the BCM C1 and C3 harness connectors.
    3. Connect a 12-volt test light between the (L77) Left Front Park Lamp Driver circuit and the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Turn the Left Turn Signal on.

      Does the test light blink on and off?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE BCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION AT THE RIGHT REAR PARK LAMP 
    1. Connect a 12-volt test light between the (L71) Left Rear Park Lamp Driver circuit and the (Z941) Ground circuit at the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
    2. Turn the Left Turn Signal on.

      Does the test light blink on and off?

      Yes 

      No
