Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC)
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK FOR AN INOPERATIVE LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL LAMP
- CHECK THE (L61) LEFT FRONT TURN SIGNAL DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (L61) Left Front Turn Signal Driver circuit between the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector and the BCM C1 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (L61) Left Front Turn Signal Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Z910) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN IN THE HARNESS
- Measure the resistance of the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Repair the open in the (Z910) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Left Front Lamp Assembly C2 harness connector.
- CHECK THE (L63) LEFT REAR TURN SIGNAL DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN IN THE HARNESS
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- Disconnect the BCM C3 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (L63) Left Rear Turn Signal Driver circuit between the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector and the BCM C3 harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 6
No
- Repair the open in the (L63) Left Rear Turn Signal Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Z941) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN IN THE HARNESS
- Measure the resistance of the (Z941) Ground circuit at the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Repair the open in the (Z941) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- Measure the resistance of the (Z941) Ground circuit at the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
- CHECK THE BCM FOR CORRECT OPERATION AT THE LEFT FRONT OR REAR TURN SIGNAL
- Turn the ignition off.
- Connect the BCM C1 or C3 harness connector.
- Connect a 12-volt test light between ground and the (L61) Left Front Turn Signal Driver circuit or the (L63) Left Rear Turn Signal Driver circuit.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Activate the Left Turn Signal.
- Repeat these steps for the (L63) Left Rear Turn Lamp Driver circuit at the Left Tail Lamp Assembly harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly for both connections?
Yes
- Replace the faulty Left Turn Signal Bulb in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to UNIT, FRONT LAMP, LOWER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the BCM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
