Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase BPCM DTCs.
- Turn the ignition off. Wait 3 minutes.
- Turn the ignition on. Wait 3 minutes.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK THE BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) HEATER VALVE CONTROL OUTPUT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Battery Heater Valve Solenoid harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, actuate the Battery Heater Valve Control State.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to a good chassis ground, check the (H372) Battery Heater Valve Solenoid Control circuit in the Battery Heater Valve Solenoid harness connector.NOTE:
The test light should be illuminated and bright. Compare the brightness to that of a direct connection to the battery.
Is the test light illuminated and bright?
Yes
- Replace the Battery Heater Valve Solenoid in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (H372) HEATER VALVE CONTROL OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (H372) Battery Heater Valve Solenoid Control circuit between the Battery Heater Valve Solenoid harness connector and a good chassis ground.
Is the resistance above 10k Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the High Voltage Battery Pack in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to BATTERY, HIGH-VOLTAGE, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the (H372) Battery Heater Valve Solenoid Control circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
