Diagnostic Test
- CHECK THE COOLANT LEVEL
- CHECK THE (A902) FUSED B(+) CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT CIRCUIT
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check each Fused B(+) circuit in the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly for each circuit?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Repair the (A902) Fused B(+) circuit for an open or short.
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (Z900) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN/HIGH RESISTANCE
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z900) Ground circuits in the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
Does the test light illuminate brightly for each circuit?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the (Z900) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z900) Ground circuits in the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
- CHECK THE (D27) AND (D28) CAN C BUS CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close the doors and allow the Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) to shut down.NOTE:
Allow up to two minutes for the EVCU to shut down. Opening the vehicle door will interrupt the shut down process.
- Disconnect the EVCU C1 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (D27) CAN C Bus (+) circuit between the EVCU C1 harness connector and the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (D28) CAN C Bus (-) circuit between the EVCU C1 harness connector and the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
Are the resistances below 5.0 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the High Voltage Battery Pack in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to BATTERY, HIGH-VOLTAGE, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Repair the (D27) CAN C Bus (+) or (D28) CAN C Bus (-) for an open circuit.
- Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
- Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close the doors and allow the Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) to shut down.
- PRESSURE TEST THE BATTERY COOLANT SYSTEM
- Turn the ignition off.NOTE:
The Battery Coolant System Pressure Test requires the running of a diagnostic routine that operates the coolant pump. Trapped air in the coolant system may allow the pump to overspeed and shutdown interrupting the test and setting additional DTCs.
- Perform the HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE
.
Does the Battery Coolant System pass the Pressure Test?
Yes
- Go To 7
No
- Go To 6
- Turn the ignition off.
- RETEST THE BATTERY COOLANT SYSTEM NOTE:
If the pressure test failed or did not complete the diagnostic routine in the previous step, the BPCM may set DTC P0E3B-00 BATTERY COOLANT PUMP OVERSPEED and/or reset this DTC P0C32-00 BATTERY COOLING SYSTEM PERFORMANCE.
- Repeat the HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLANT SYSTEM PRESSURE TEST. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE
.
