Section 1 (Battery System (Service Information) 500 - Electric): Battery: Installation: Installation

ANY TIME BATTERY CABLE TO CLAMP NUTS ARE LOOSENED/REMOVED, THEY MUST BE REPLACED. 

1. Position the battery on the tray.

2. Tighten the battery lower hold down bolt (1) to prevent battery movement.

3. Install the upper hold down (3) into the hook eyelet (2).
4. Install the bolt (1). Tighten to 10 N.m (89 ft. lbs.).

5. Connect the positive battery cable. Install the battery positive clamp nut (1). Tighten to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs).
6. Connect the negative battery cable. Install the battery negative clamp nut (2). Tighten to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs).
