Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.
    3. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    4. Turn the ignition off.
    5. Wait 10 seconds.
    6. Turn the ignition on.
    7. With the scan tool, read the DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension. Repair as necessary. If no problems are found, test complete.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - ELECTRIC .
  2. VERIFY THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) IS INSTALLED IN THE CORRECT VEHICLE 
    1. With the scan tool, compare the Original VIN to the Current VIN in the BCM Overview.

      Do the VINs match?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. PERFORM THE PROXI CONFIGURATION ALIGNMENT 
    1. With the scan tool, perform the Proxi Configuration Alignment.
    2. Turn the ignition off.
    3. Wait three minutes.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Test complete.
