Diagnostic Test

- VERIFY THAT DTC B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED IS ACTIVE
- With the scan tool, erase the CTM DTCs.
- Start the engine and allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
- If the vehicle has been in the hot sunlight or extreme cold, move the vehicle indoors and open the doors to allow the inside temperature to stabilize.
- The CTM should operate between -39°C and 75°C (-38°F and 167°F).
- With the scan tool, read the CTM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED as active?
Yes
- Turn the ignition off and allow the Convergence Telematics Module (CTM) to cool.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK FOR POWER INVERTER MODULE (PIM) DTCS
- TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- With the scan tool, erase the CTM DTCs.
- Start the engine and allow the engine to idle for two minutes.
- With the scan tool, read the CTM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1004-01-DEVICE HALTED as active?
Yes
- Replace the Convergence Telematics Module (CTM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, CONVERGENCE TELEMATICS, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
