Diagnostic Test

- CHECK FOR MULTIPLE DTCS
- Turn the Ignition ON, Vehicle in ready mode.
- With the scan tool check PIM failure code memory for additional Resolver Angle Sensor DTCs (P0A40-00, P0A1B-00, P0A3F-00 and P1B03-00).
Were any Resolver Angle Sensor DTCs found?
Yes
Diagnose these DTCs first in accordance with the service information.
No
- Go To 2
- CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE
- With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
- Clear the DTC.
- Ignition off wait at least one minute.
- Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
- With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
- If any High Voltage System DTCs are found, Diagnose these first according to the service procedure.
Did the DTC reset?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
Perform the following Standard Procedures. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Visual check of 3-Phase wiring harness between e-machine and PIM Check continuity and short circuit of 3-Phase wiring harness Check electrical resistance between e-Motor phases
- OFFSET ANGLE CALIBRATION
- Turn Ignition OFF then back ON.
- With the scan tool, perform the Offset Angle Relearn Procedure.
Is there an Angle Failure Fault?
Yes
Repair according to the procedure in the scan tool.
No
- Go To 4.
- POWER INVERTER MODULE
- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
- Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact.
- Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were there any problems found?
Yes
- Repair as necessary.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance to the service information. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
