Diagnostic Test

- PERFORM VISUAL INSPECTION OF 3-PHASE WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN E-MOTOR AND PIM NOTE:
Any time the Power Inverter Module (PIM) cover is removed, it MUST BE REPLACED due to a non reusable seal.
- Disconnect 3 Phase harness from PIM and e-Motor, and inspect for corrosion.
Was there any corrosion at connections?
Yes
Replace 3 Phase Wire Harness according to written service procedure.
No
- Go To 2
- Disconnect 3 Phase harness from PIM and e-Motor, and inspect for corrosion.
- CHECK PIM DIODE
- Disconnect 12V Battery.
- Disconnect the 28 way Low Voltage connector from PIM.NOTE:
Any time the Power Inverter Module (PIM) cover is removed, it MUST BE REPLACED due to a non reusable seal.
- Disconnect all High Voltage wires from PIM.
- Measure Diode with multimeter.
- Measure T-Plus (3 Measurements) : U/V/W and record.
- Measure T-Minus (3 Measurements) : U/V/W and record.
Were the readings between 0.2V and 0.4V ?
yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM). Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK E-MOTOR
- Perform isolation measurements of PIM.
Refer to ISOLATION MEASUREMENTS OF PIM .
- Perform isolation measurements of e-Motor.
Refer to ISOLATION MEASUREMENTS OF E-MOTOR .
- Perform isolation measurement of 3 phase wiring harness.
- Check electrical resistance of e-Motor phases.
Refer to CHECK ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE BETWEEN E-MOTOR PHASES .
Did any of the above tests fail?
Yes
- Repair in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- The condition that caused the DTC to set is not present at this time.
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- Perform isolation measurements of PIM.
