Throttle Body: Removal: 1.4L

CAUTION:

Never have the ignition key in the ON position when checking the throttle body shaft for a binding condition. This may set DTC's.

  1. Remove the engine cover.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  3. Unlock and disconnect the wire harness connector (1) from the Electronic Throttle Control (ETC).
  4. Disengage the EVAP purge hose retaining clips (3) from the throttle body.
  5. Loosen the clamp (2) and remove the charge air cooler outlet hose from the throttle body.

  6. Remove one stud bolt (3), three bolts (2) and the throttle body (1) from the intake manifold.

  7. Check the condition of the throttle body-to-intake manifold seal (1). The seal can be reused if not damaged.
