Rail, Fuel: Removal: 1.4L

  1. Perform the fuel pressure release procedure. Refer to FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE  .
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove engine cover.
  4. Remove the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, REMOVAL .

  5. Disengage and reposition the purge flow control solenoid (1) from the bracket (4).

  6. Remove two nuts (1), bolt (7) and the purge flow control solenoid bracket (2).

  7. Disconnect the fuel line (1) from the fuel rail. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .

  8. Unlock and disconnect the wire harness connectors (2) from the fuel injectors.
  9. Disengage two wire harness retainers (1) from the fuel rail and reposition the wire harness.

  10. Remove the two fuel rail support bolts (2).

  11. Using care. Remove the fuel rail (1) with the injectors from the intake manifold.
  12. Remove the fuel injector retainer clips (2).
  13. Using care. Remove the fuel injectors (3) from the fuel rail.
