Rail, Fuel: Installation: 1.4L

Check the condition of the O-rings before installing the injectors. Replace if any damage or abnormal wear is found.

  1. Clean the area around the intake manifold injector ports.
  2. Lightly lubricate the fuel injector O-rings with a couple drops of clean engine oil.
  3. Install retaining clips on fuel injectors (2).
  4. Push injectors (3) into fuel rail (1) until clips are in the correct position.

  5. Position fuel rail (1) over intake manifold injector ports, and push rail into place. Tighten fuel rail mounting bolts (2) to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).

  6. Position the wiring harness onto the fuel rail and engage two wire harness retainers (1)
  7. Connect and lock the fuel injector wire harness connectors (2).

  8. Connect the fuel line (1) to the fuel rail.

  9. Install the purge flow control solenoid bracket (2). Tighten bolt (7), two nuts (1) to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).

  10. Position and engage the purge flow control solenoid (1) to the bracket (4).
  11. Install the air cleaner body. Refer to BODY, AIR CLEANER, INSTALLATION .
  12. Connect the negative battery cable.
  13. Install the engine cover.
