Pump, Water: Installation: 1.4L

- Clean the mating surfaces.
- Apply a strip of silicone sealant to the contact surfaces between the water pump and the engine block.
- Position pump onto the engine block.
- Install the mounting bolts and nut. Tighten to 10 N.m (89 in. lbs.)
- Rotate pump by hand to check for freedom of movement.
- Install the timing belt (1). For 1.4L 16-Valve engine, refer to BELT, TIMING, INSTALLATION . For 1.4L 16-Valve turbo engine, refer to BELT, TIMING, INSTALLATION .
- Evacuate air and fill the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
