Diagnostic Test

- ACTIVE DTC NOTE:
Diagnose and repair any Lost Communication or CAN C BUS DTCs before continuing with this diagnostic procedure.
- Ignition on, engine not running.
- With a scan tool, select View DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
- CHECK OTHER MODULES FOR LOST FUEL LEVEL MESSAGE DTCS
- With a scan tool, check if any other modules have a Lost Fuel Level Message DTC present.
Were any Lost Fuel Level Message DTCs present in any other modules?
Yes
- Replace and program the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, REMOVAL and PROGRAM THE PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) .
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
- With a scan tool, check if any other modules have a Lost Fuel Level Message DTC present.
