Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC P1E25-00 HYBRID/EV BATTERY FAILURE LEVEL 2 
    1. Turn the ignition on. Wait one minute.
    2. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the status Active for DTC P1E25-00 HYBRID/EV BATTERY FAILURE LEVEL 2 and also this DTC?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE ACTIVE DTCs 
    1. Verify that no other DTCs are set in the Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) other than this DTC.

      Are any other DTCs set in the BPCM?

      Yes 

      • Perform the diagnostic procedure for those DTCs before continuing.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

  3. CHECK THE AIR ELECTRIC HEATER (AEH) OPERATION 
    NOTE:

    Before performing any test with the Fluke 1587 or equivalent multi-meter, check the internal fuse (located next to the AA batteries in the Fluke 1587). Place the multi-meter leads into the (+) and (-) Insulation Ports, make sure you are on the 500V scale, and then place the selector to "Insulation Scale". Touch the Positive and negative lead together and hold. Press and hold the Isolation button. If a value of 550 k ohms is displayed, then the internal fuse is open and must be replaced before performing the Diagnostic Procedure.

    1. Disconnect the AEH high voltage connector C2 at the HVPDC.
    2. Disconnect the ground from the vehicle at the AEH.
    3. Place the Fluke 1587 selector to "Insulation Scale". Make sure the Fluke 1587 is at the 500V scale.
    4. Connect the Fluke 1587 Insulation black probe to the AEH ground (that was disconnected).
    5. Connect the Fluke 1587 Insulation red probe to either terminal of the disconnected high voltage connector C2 at the HVPDC.
    6. Press and hold the Insulation button on the Fluke 1587.

      Does the Fluke 1587 show a value less than 550 k ohms? 

      Yes 

      No
