Theory Of Operation

The Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) immediately shuts down the high voltage system and sets the Controlled System Shutdown DTC whenever the following conditions are present:
- A Vehicle Impact signal is received from the Body Control Module (BCM).
- The BPCM detects a loss of communication with the BCM.
- The Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU) sends a message to the BPCM indicating a vehicle impact has occurred.
The BPCM disables the high voltage system until the condition is corrected and the fault is cleared with the scan tool.
