Diagnostic Test

  1. ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase BPCM DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off. Wait one minute.
    4. Turn the ignition on. Wait one minute.
    5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

      Is the status Active for this DTC?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
  2. CHECK THE (A501) COOLANT PUMP RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector.
    3. Turn the ignition on.
    4. Using a 12-volt test light connected to ground, check the (A501) Coolant Pump Relay Output circuit at the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

      • Repair the open or short to ground in the (A501) Coolant Pump Relay Output circuit.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. CHECK THE (Z910) GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Using a 12-volt test light connected to 12-volts, check the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector.

      Does the test light illuminate brightly?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (Z910) Ground circuit.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE (D515) LIN BUS CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Measure the voltage between ground and the (D515) LIN BUS circuit at the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector.

      Is the voltage above 5.0 volts?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  5
  5. CHECK THE (D515) LIN BUS CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the (D515) LIN BUS circuit between the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Repair the open in the (D515) LIN Bus circuit between the Battery Coolant Pump harness connector the High Voltage Battery Pack C3 low voltage harness connector.
      • Perform the BATTERY PACK CONTROL MODULE (BPCM) VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BPCM VERIFICATION TEST .
