1.4L I4 8V E100

  1. Install the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) (1) to the battery tray with four nuts (2) and ground strap (3). Tighten nuts (2) to 5 N.m (44 in. lbs.).

  2. Connect the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) electrical connectors (1 and 2).
  3. Install the battery.
    NOTE:

    If the original Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and original vehicle mileage is not programed into the PCM, a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) may be set.

  4. If installing a new PCM, use a diagnostic scan tool to reprogram the new PCM with the vehicles original VIN and mileage. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL, MODULE PROGRAMMING .
