Module, Body Control: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect, and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the drivers side close out panel (1).
  3. Remove the driver knee blocker (2). Refer to AIR BAG, KNEE BLOCKER, REMOVAL .

  4. Remove the two fasteners, and remove the fuse box cover.
  5. Disconnect the four electrical connectors (1) on the front side of the Body Control Module (BCM) (2).

  6. Remove the three fasteners (1) that secure the BCM (2) to the mounting bracket (3); two on the top, and one on the bottom.
  7. Lift the BCM up far enough to clear the lower mounting point on the bracket.
    NOTE:

    It will be necessary to position the bracket downward when removing the BCM.

    CAUTION:

    Do not distort the BCM bracket in excess, when repositioning.

  8. Pull the BCM forward and down to remove from the bracket.
  9. Disconnect the two electrical connectors from the back, and remove the BCM from the vehicle.
