NOTE:
The only approved oil for the BEV air conditioning system is Polyolester oil (POE). POE is less conductive than other oils.
The air-conditioning compressor (2) is actuated by way of high voltage electricity. It is an electric pump. The compressor is located on the left frame rail just aft of the condenser (5). The compressor has a suction line (3) and a high pressure line (4) attaching point. The compressor is mounted on rubber isolators to help absorb vibrations. There are two purposes for the air conditioning compressor. It helps reduce the temperature of the passenger compartment as well as it helps lower the temperature of the coolant by use of a chiller assembly (1). The compressor uses R134a refrigerant.
