Section 19 (Body - Interior & Exterior - 500 - Electric): DECKLID/Hatch/Liftgate/Tailgate: Latch: Removal: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Open the liftgate.
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12-volt battery cable.
- Remove the liftgate trim panel. Refer to PANEL, TRIM, LIFTGATE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the fasteners (1) securing the latch to the liftgate.
- Disconnect harness connector (2) from the latch (1).
- Remove the latch (1) through the access cavity in the liftgate.
