Diagnostic Test

VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE

NOTE:

The CAN C Bus modules are connected in series in the following order: DLC >> BCM >> EPS >> YRS >> ESM >> TCM >> ABS >> PCM. Disconnecting a module will remove the module and all the modules downstream of that module from the CAN C bus, preventing communication with the scan tool.

Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes
- Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) and perform the NO RESPONSE FROM PCM (POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE) diagnostic procedure.
No
- Refer to STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS and perform the STORED LOST COMMUNICATION DTCS diagnostic procedure.
