Diagnostic Test

- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Operate the Passenger Door Lock several times.
- Turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
- CHECK THE PASSENGER DOOR LATCH
- Disconnect the Passenger Door Latch harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, observe the Passenger Door Lock/Unlock status in the data display.
- Momentarily connect a jumper wire between the (P4) Passenger Door Unlock Driver circuit and the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Passenger Door Latch harness connector.
Does the status toggle from Lock to Unlock when the jumper is inserted and then removed?
Yes
- Replace the Passenger Door Latch. Refer to LATCH, DOOR, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
No
- Go To 3
- CHECK THE (Z910) PASSENGER DOOR LATCH GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AND OPEN
- Measure the resistance of the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Passenger Door Latch harness connector.
Is the resistance less than 5 Ohms?
Yes
- Go To 4
No
- Repair the open in the (Z910) ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
- Measure the resistance of the (Z910) Ground circuit at the Passenger Door Latch harness connector.
- CHECK THE (P4) PASSENGER DOOR UNLOCK DRIVER CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module C1 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance of the (P4) Passenger Door Unlock Driver circuit between the BCM C1 harness connector and the Passenger Door Latch harness connector.
Is the resistance less than 5 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
No
- Repair the open in the (P4) Passenger Door Unlock Driver circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) - BODY VERIFICATION TEST - 500 - EXCEPT ELECTRIC .
