Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR RELATED ABS DTCS 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) DTCs.

      Are there any ABS DTCs present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK FOR RELATED PIM DTCS 
    1. With the scan tool, read Power Inverter Module (PIM) DTCs.

      Are there any PIM DTCs present?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE VEHICLE WHEELS/TIRES 
    1. Check the vehicle wheels/tires for proper size.

      Are the wheels/tires the correct size?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

      • Install the proper wheels/tires for the vehicle.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
  4. CHECK IF THE DTC RESETS 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, erase Electric Vehicle Control Unit EVCU DTCs.
    3. Turn the ignition off. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch, close doors and allow the EVCU to shut down.
      NOTE:

      Allow up to two minutes for the EVCU to shut down. Opening the vehicle door will interrupt the shut down process.

    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Test drive the vehicle. Make sure the EAC is off.
    6. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
    7. If any ABS or PIM DTCs set during the test drive: Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX, ABS or PIM, DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX and perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure before proceeding.

      Does this DTC reset?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

  5. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL UNIT (EVCU) 
    1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors between the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) module/sensors, Power Inverter Module (PIM) and the Electric Vehicle Control Unit (EVCU).
    2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
    3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals.
    4. Perform any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were there any problems found?

      Yes 

      No
