Shifter, Transmission: Installation: Installation

  1. Align shifter rails.

  2. Apply a uniform bead of Mopar / Fiat Case Sealer to the case side of the transaxle.

    Install the shifter assembly. Tighten bolts (3) to 20 N.m (15 Ft. lbs.)

  3. Install shifter cable to lever (1).

  4. Connect the cable to mounting bracket (1).

  5. Connect the shift selector cable (1) to the lever.

  6. Connect the reverse lamp switch connector (1).
  7. Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  8. Check the transmission fluid level and correct as needed. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
