Hub And Bearing: Installation: Installation

  1. Slide the hub and bearing (4) onto the spindle (5).
  2. Install a washer (2) and a NEW hub nut (1) on the spindle. Tighten the nut to 280 N.m (207 ft. lbs.).
  3. Install the brake rotor (3) and caliper assembly (6). Install and tighten the caliper adapter mounting bolts (7) to 57 N.m (42 ft. lbs.). Refer to ROTOR, BRAKE, INSTALLATION .

  4. Install the hub and bearing dust cap (2).
  5. Install rotor mounting pins (1) and tighten to 12 N.m (106 in. lbs.).

  6. Install tire and wheel assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Pump the brake pedal several times to ensure the vehicle has a firm brake pedal before moving the vehicle.
