Seal(S), Valve Guide: Removal: Removal

  1. Remove the valve spring(s).

    Refer to SPRING(S), VALVE, REMOVAL .

    NOTE:

    If the valve springs are to be reused, identify their positions so that they can be reassembled into their original locations.

    Intake and Exhaust valve springs are unique. Mark accordingly prior to removal

  2. Remove and discard the valve guide seal.
    NOTE:

    Valve spring seats are integral to the stem seal and are common Intake and exhaust.

  3. If required, remove the valve(s). Refer to VALVES, INTAKE AND EXHAUST, REMOVAL .
