Section 94 (Charging (Service Information) 500): Generator: Removal: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the accessory drive belt (4). Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, REMOVAL .
  3. Support and raise the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING .

  4. Remove the belly pan (1). Refer to BELLY PAN, REMOVAL .

  5. Remove the right side axle shaft and intermediate shaft. Refer to REMOVAL .

  6. Disconnect the generator field wire harness connector.
  7. Remove nut and the B+ cable from the generator stud.
  8. Remove the top generator mounting bolt (1). This bolt is located between the generator and the A/C compressor.
  9. Remove the bottom two generator mounting bolts (2) and the generator (3).
