DDCT, Odd Gears

  1. Remove the hydraulic line plug (1) from the new odd gear slave cylinder and remove the dust cap (2) by hand. Do not remove the hydraulic line clip (3).

  2. Install the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) puller tool (1) onto the odd gear clutch slave cylinder (2).
    3. NOTE:

    Do not over tighten the puller tool bolt.

  3. Tighten the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) puller tool bolt until the bolt bottoms out on the washer or becomes tight on the odd gear slave cylinder.
  4. Remove the old Loctite from the pull rod threads (2) and apply new Mopar Thread Lock and Seal Loctite (1).

  5. Install the odd gear clutch slave cylinder onto the pull rod and tighten CW till hand tight.

  6. Holding the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) clamp tool handle (1) tighten the puller tool bolt to 8 Nm (70 lb. in.).

  7. Loosen the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) clamp tool fasteners but do not remove.

  8. Hold the clamp tool handle (1) and rotate the odd gear clutch slave cylinder (2) into the position noted during removal.

  9. Loosen the puller tool bolt until the odd gear clutch slave cylinder rests on the clamp tool surface.

  10. Install the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) support posts (1) and tighten by hand.

  11. Rotate the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) push bar CW onto the support posts and tighten the support post fasteners (1) hand tight with a socket.

    12. NOTE:

    Do not over tighten the puller tool bolt.

  12. Tighten the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) puller tool bolt (1) until the bolt bottoms out on the washer or it becomes tight on the new odd gear slave cylinder piston.
  13. Remove the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) clamp tool fasteners (1) and clamp tool. If the clamp tool does not remove easily perform the following steps:
    1. Loosen the support post fasteners but do not fully remove.
    2. Loosen the support posts approximately a half turn.
    3. Tighten the support post fasteners hand tight.
    4. Remove the clamp tool.
    5. If the clamp tool still does not remove easily, repeat the above steps until the clamp tool is easily removed.

  14. Loosen the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) puller tool bolt (1) until the new odd gear slave cylinder descends onto the transmission case.
  15. Remove the (special tool #2012400210, Remover / Installer, CSC Valve) puller tool and rotate the new odd gear slave cylinder CCW into the position noted during removal.

  16. Turn the odd gear slave cylinder piston so that the dust cap key way is open.

  17. Observe the key at the bottom of the dust cap.

    18. NOTE:

    Make sure the dust cap key is aligned with the odd gear slave cylinder key way.

  18. Install the odd gear slave cylinder dust cap by hand.
  19. Install the odd gear slave cylinder bolts (1) and tighten to the proper SPECIFICATIONS .

  20. Install the odd gear slave cylinder electrical connector (1).

  21. Install the odd gear slave cylinder hydraulic line into the odd gear slave cylinder (3) making sure it clips into place and the clip (1) is fully installed.
  22. Install the odd gear slave cylinder hydraulic line onto the retention clip (2).

  23. Install the ground cable and bolt (1) onto the transmission side cover and tighten to the proper SPECIFICATIONS .
  24. Install the LH wheel house splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, INSTALLATION .
  25. Install the LH front wheel. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  26. Lower the vehicle.
  27. Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  28. Install the battery. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  29. Perform the scan tool functions for the odd gear clutch position sensor replacement (Refer to ).
