Seat Back, Front: Removal: Removal

NOTE:

Before proceeding with the following procedure, review all Warnings and Cautions. Refer to WARNING  .

NOTE:

Passenger seat shown in illustration. Driver seat similar.

  1. Remove the front seat being serviced and place it on a workbench. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL  .
  2. On the outboard side cover, using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener covers from the recliner lever (1) and height adjuster lever (2).
  3. Remove the fastener (5) from the recliner lever (1).
  4. Remove the fastener (3) from the height adjuster lever (2).
  5. Remove the recliner lever (1) and the height adjuster lever (2).
  6. Remove the fastener from the rear of the side cover.

  7. On the front inner of the side cover (1), release the side cover clip (2) from the retainer the tab, with the use of a small flat bladed tool (3).
  8. Move the outboard side cover up and forward, releasing it from the seat.
  9. Disconnect the wiring connector from the heated seat switch, if so equipped.

  10. On the inboard side cover (1), using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener cover from the side cover.
  11. Remove the fasteners (2) from the inboard side cover.
  12. Remove the fasteners (3) from the rear of the inboard side cover.
  13. Move the inboard side cover (1) up and forward, releasing it from the seat.

  14. From the bottom of the seat, disconnect the occupant detection sensor wiring connector (2).
  15. Disconnect the seat track position sensor wiring connector (3).
  16. Unfasten the seat wiring harness routing clips (1).

  17. Disconnect the seat back wiring guide (1).
  18. Unfasten the seat wiring harness routing clips (2).

  19. Remove the seat belt buckle (3) fastener.
  20. Remove the fasteners (2) from both sides of the seat back (1).
  21. Remove the seat back (1) from the seat cushion.
