Sunroof, Dual Pane: Description: Description

The electric sun roof comprises two glass panels (the front one is mobile and the rear one fixed) and is fitted with an electrically operated sun blind.

When the front glass panel is closed it allows outside light to enter the passenger compartment and you can see out of it.

The front sunroof glass panel tilts upward at the rear for ventilation and slides rearward over the fixed rear glass panel when open. The panel seals flush with the roof in the closed position to eliminate wind noise. The sunroof includes an electric rolling sunshade to cover the deep-tinted glass panel.

The sun roof comprises a mobile glass panel and a front piece which acts as a wind deflector. When the moving panel is opening it slides outside the roof panel (deflector position).

The operation of the sun roof and power rolling sunshade if so equipped, is activated using the opening/closing switch button located in the overhead console.

The power sunroof system allows the sunroof to be opened, closed or placed in the vent position electrically by actuating a switch in the overhead console. The sunroof system receives battery feed through a fuse in the Power Distribution Center (PDC). The sunroof will operate normally with the key in any position while the Accessory Delay system is active.

In addition to the standard power sunroof operation, this vehicle offers several additional features. There is an express (one-touch) opening and closing feature as well as Excessive Force Limitation (EFL). During a closing operation the EFL function detects obstacles trapped between the glass or power sunshade and the front opening and central crossmember area. Upon sensing an obstacle the EFL function will interrupt movement of the glass or power sunshade to allow removal of the obstacle.

The main components of the power sunroof system are:
