Diagnostic Test
- TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
- Try to open and close the driver window several times.
- Wait 30 seconds.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display; B12A7-23-FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW LIFTER DOWN - SIGNAL STUCK LOW?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE DRIVER WINDOW MOTOR
- With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
- Disconnect the Driver Window Motor connector.
- Cycle the ignition off then on
- Wait 30 seconds.
- Try to open and close the driver window several times.
- With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display; B12A7-23-FRONT PASSENGER WINDOW LIFTER DOWN - SIGNAL STUCK LOW?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Driver Window Motor in accordance with the Service Information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE WINDOW HALL SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Disconnect the Body Control Module C6 harness connector.
- Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q990) Window Hall Sensor Return circuit in the Driver Window Motor connector.
Is the resistance above 10k ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Body Control Module in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to MODULE, BODY CONTROL, REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
No
- Repair the short to ground in the (Q990) Window Hall Sensor Return circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
