Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
NOTE:
Diagnose and repair any Turbocharger Surge Valve or the Boost Pressure Sensor DTCs before continuing with this test.
1. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature.
2. Test drive the vehicle. It may be necessary to perform several decelerations to duplicate the conditions to set the DTC.
3. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT DTC diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
TURBOCHARGER SURGE VALVE RESTRICTED
1. Visually check the Turbocharger Surge Valve for debris or signs of a restriction.
  Were any restrictions found?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the appropriate repair.
  - Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 16V Turbo .
  No
  - Replace the Turbocharger Surge Valve in accordance with the Service Information.
  - Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST, 16V Turbo .
