A/C Discharge Line Removal

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

  1. Remove the electric motor trim cover.
  2. Power down the high voltage system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Disconnect the negative 12-volt battery cable.
  4. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE  .
  5. Remove the cooling module. Refer to MODULE, A/C AND HEATER, REMOVAL .

  6. Remove the Electric A/C Compressor (EAC) discharge fitting nut (1), and disconnect the fitting.
    • Discard the O-ring seal.
    • Install plugs in, or tape over the opened refrigerant line fittings and ports.

  7. Remove the LH lower A/C discharge line bracket bolt (1).

  8. Remove the RH upper A/C discharge line bracket bolt (1).
  9. Remove the A/C discharge line.
