Unit, Headlamp: Removal: Bulb

CAUTION:
Do not contaminate the bulb glass by touching it with your fingers or by allowing it to contact other oily surfaces. Shortened bulb life will result.
WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12 volt battery cable.
- Reach behind the headlamp unit housing (2) to access and rotate the cover (1) on the back of the housing counterclockwise and remove it from the lamp.
- Firmly grasp the bulb base (3) and rotate it counterclockwise about 30 degrees to unlock it.
- Pull the bulb and base straight out from the keyed opening in the headlamp reflector.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the bulb connector receptacle.
